Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘Out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living waters.’” – John 7:37-38
Jesus was making a mighty declaration: “Out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living waters.” The Greek word used for “his heart” is koilia which means a cavity, translated “out of his belly” or “out of his stomach”. The NASB translation is “from his innermost being will flow rivers of living waters” — the inner life.
The anatomy of the inner life is staggeringly profound. Its contours are deep, complex, and multi-layered. It is a mystery that we need to search and understand.
IDMC 2018 “Faith and Fire — Living from the Inside Out” seeks exactly to do that. It seeks to explore the terrains of the inner life and to bring forth discipleship from the inside out:
When we have this inner turmoil in our inner life, what do we do? Some would say pray more, have more quiet time, memorise Scriptures more, join your cell group more, etc. The problem with these, good as they may be, is that they are from the outside in! How then do we live from the inside out?
Join us in IDMC 2018 “Faith and Fire — Living from the Inside Out” and discover how to deepen our faith and ignite our fire as we live from the inside out!
